Adopt Mr. Pumpkin!

Mr. Pumpkin, neutered male born approximately 2006.

Mr. Pumpkin was found in an Animal General employee’s backyard and over time became friendlier until he walked right in the house. There is nothing feral about him anymore.  He’s a very sweet man who is so grateful to be off the NYC streets. Mr. Pumpkin is FIV-positive (which cannot be transmitted to humans or any other creature besides cats), but we expect that he will live a long, happy life now that he’s indoors. He loves to play and to be held and hugged; and once he’s bonded to you he will be right at your side.  He’s also a talker and responds to his name.  Mr. Pumpkin was adopted in 2007 as part of our Elder Care program, but was recently returned due only to his owner’s failing health.    He had urinary crystals in the past, so he eats Iams Low pH/S canned or Royal Canin SO canned.  This lucky boy is looking for a new home with warm beds, regular meals, clean water, and caring hands to scratch behind his ears.  A home with children is fine – he’s a gentle boy.  He would be perfect for a one-cat household with no other cats and no dogs.

Lady!

Lady, female pit bull mix, born approximately February 2012.

Lady was found tied up next to Animal General on 87th Street.  Someone (we think her owner) called a couple of times and said, “You know, there’s a dog tied up on 87th Street.”  After the second call, we went to look and found this SWEET girl tied up and waiting for us.  She’s young, extremely affectionate, and loves to play and run.  She needs training, but she’s very smart and learns quickly. Lady loves other dogs, loves children, and needs a real forever home to love her and train her as soon as possible.
